UCSIUPSSA Science Workshop 2024: Hands-on Exploration

OBJECTIVE:

The UCSIUPSSA Science Workshop 2024 (SW), organized by UCSI UPSSA members, was a collaborative event designed to enhance connections between students from various UCSI University associations, including the School of Optometry Student Association (SOOSA), IEEE HKN Mu Alpha Chapter (IEEE), and the Forensic Science Student Association (FOSSA). It aimed to engage secondary school, STPM, and pre-university students, encouraging their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. The workshop provided participants with insights into careers in pharmacy, optometry, engineering, and forensic science, while highlighting the integration of innovative technologies within these fields. The event’s goal was to help students make informed decisions regarding their educational and career paths. A key collaboration with the National STEM Association Malaysia (NSA) brought added value, with Professor Dato’ Dr. Noraini binti Idris, president of NSA, delivering the opening ceremony speech. This collaboration helped enrich the event with expertise and perspectives from STEM professionals. The event fostered a dynamic, interactive learning environment, offering participants a comprehensive and engaging experience through a diverse array of activities, ultimately enhancing their understanding of STEM careers
