UCSI Students Acts Against Food Waste

OBJECTIVE:

Bite by Bite: Rescue More, Waste Less

UCSI University’s Food Science and Nutrition students led the “Bite by Bite: Rescue More, Waste Less” campaign at Summit USJ in collaboration with MBSJ and the USJ 14 Community Garden Association.

The event featured a talk by the Ministry of Health’s Chang Lee Sin, a live cooking demo by Chef Fazly Che Omar, and engaging hands-on activities on repurposing food and upcycling waste.

Guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Satvinder Kaur, the campaign raised awareness on Malaysia’s food waste issue and encouraged the community to adopt smarter, more sustainable consumption habits.

Together, participants learned that every small action taken bite by bite can make a big difference in reducing food waste and improving lives.
