To prove UCSI University’s commitment to environmental protection, the Accommodation & Administrative Services Department (AASD) and the Residential Hall Association (RHA) have collaborated to organise its first “Beach Clean-Up” project at Pantai Telok Kemang, Port Dickson, on 18 March 2023. The participants were committed to protecting and preventing environmental deficits affecting future generations. Recently, Malaysia was ranked 3rd on the list of countries that are the main contributors to plastic pollution in the ocean. (https://www.visualcapitalist.com/…/visualized-ocean…/). Therefore, the main objective of the beach clean-up activity is to practise more “green” measures in our daily lives and encourage a sustainable future. For this “Beach Clean-Up” activity, we want to thank the 36 participants (19 international and 17 local students) who improved the coastal and ocean ecosystem.

It started at around 9.15 AM, and ended at noon. The participants managed to remove trash and marine debris, preventing chemicals from entering the ocean.
