MAPAN ESG Summit 2026
OBJECTIVE:
UCSI University representatives, including Prof. Show, Prof. Dato’ Ahmad Ibrahim, and Mr Leong Sat Sing contributed to the inaugural MAPAN ESG Summit 2026 held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. The summit brought together universities, industries, policymakers, and sustainability practitioners to collaborate and exchange knowledge in advancing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices in Malaysia. The involvement of various stakeholders highlighted the importance of collective efforts in driving sustainability transformation across sectors.
The summit focused on supporting Malaysian organisations, particularly Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), in transitioning from voluntary ESG practices towards strategic implementation aligned with the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF). Through discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, the event aimed to provide greater understanding of ESG requirements and encourage organisations to integrate sustainability considerations into their operations.
The MAPAN ESG Summit 2026 also served as a platform to bridge the gap between academic research and industry application through a “Theory to Practice” approach. The programme featured discussions on key ESG pillars, including green financing, climate disclosure, sustainable supply chain integration, and circular economy practices, while fostering collaboration and innovation among academia, industry, and policymakers through initiatives such as the Impact Innovation Challenge.
The successful organisation of the summit demonstrated the value of cross-sector collaboration in strengthening ESG awareness and implementation in Malaysia. By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the event contributed towards building a stronger sustainability ecosystem and encouraging organisations to take meaningful steps towards responsible and sustainable development.
The Malaysian Association of Public Advocacy for Nature (MAPAN) is a registered non-profit organization (NPO) and NGO. Its credibility stems from its role as an advocacy group and facilitator for ESG adoption, particularly among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and its collaboration with stakeholders.
UCSI University proudly served as co-organiser of the MAPAN ESG Summit 2026, contributing significantly to its success through academic leadership and sustainability advocacy. As the co-organiser, UCSI University played a pivotal role in shaping the Summit’s agenda and advancing meaningful ESG dialogue across academia, industry, and policy, reinforcing the institution’s leadership in championing impactful ESG transformation nationwide.
