Sustainability and ESG: What Every University Student Should Know
OBJECTIVE:
UCSI University continued its Sustainability and ESG Training on 21 October 2026, providing students with insights into how sustainability connects with their studies, future careers, and everyday choices.
The session highlighted how individuals can contribute to a more sustainable future through responsible decisions, innovative thinking, and practical actions. Students were encouraged to recognise that sustainability is relevant across all fields of study, not just environmental-related disciplines.
Through discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), students gained a broader understanding of global challenges and how their knowledge and actions can support a more sustainable and inclusive future.
The training also introduced Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, emphasising the importance of environmental responsibility, social well-being, and ethical governance in organisational practices. By understanding these principles, students can better prepare themselves to make informed decisions and contribute to responsible practices in their future professions.
