Program Belia On Sungai (BOS) 2026

OBJECTIVE:

6 June 2026 – Program Belia On Sungai (BOS) 2026 was held in conjunction with World Environment Day at the Kampung Chempaka Retention Pond, Petaling Jaya. Organised by Penggerak Belia Selangor (PEBS) in collaboration with MBPJ, JPS, UCSI University Youth Beyond Boundaries (YBB), and PlastX, the programme brought together around 100 youth volunteers from UCSI University, INTI International College, and Brickfields Asia College (BAC). The event was attended by Leong Chee Cheng, YB Jamaliah Jamaluddin, and YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital Malaysia, who highlighted the importance of collective action in environmental conservation.

Following a safety briefing, volunteers were divided into four teams—Blue, Green, Brown, and Purple—to participate in a river clean-up competition. Six UCSI University students joined Team Brown alongside volunteers from INTI International College and the BAC Leo Club. Together, participants collected a total of 528.9 kilograms of waste from the retention pond and surrounding areas. Team Green emerged as the winner, followed by Team Purple, Team Brown, and Team Blue.

Beyond the river clean-up activity, participants took part in sharing sessions where they reflected on their experiences and the importance of environmental stewardship. The event also featured a PlastX educational booth by UCSI University Youth Beyond Boundaries (YBB), and all participants received a Tapir keychain made from recycled plastic bottles, showcasing how waste can be transformed into meaningful products. Through this initiative, BOS 2026 successfully promoted environmental awareness, teamwork, and community responsibility.
