Dr Sign Workshop
OBJECTIVE:
Before the workshop, students were to prepare several draft proposals to initiate design discussion with Dr Sign in order to identify suitable materials for the signages. The workshop started with the Introduction of the materials by the instructor from Dr Sign and proceeded for the building tour. Firstly,students had the chance to see the acrylic’s’ bending and bonding process. The tour then proceeded to the machinery section, where students were able to understand the usage of each machinery for different materials. The workshop was conducted after the building tour.
Workshop Activities:
- Group discussion of potential materials to be used for live-built project in Pangkor
- Group presentation on the new design proposals according to the chosen materials – yellow tinted acrylic/ solid white acrylic
- Feedback and suggestion from Dr Sign to improve the current design.
- Dr Sign prefabricated few samples of the prototype before finalizing the design.
