On August 24, 2024, UCSI University Alumni Association hosted the “Movie Untuk Merdeka: Ola-Bola” event, a memorable evening that brought together students and alumni in the spirit of unity and inspiration. The event, themed “Harmoni-Mesra,” emphasized the importance of togetherness and harmony, reflecting the core values of Malaysian society. By celebrating our shared heritage and values through film and personal interactions, we reinforced our commitment to harmony and mutual respect.
The evening began with a warm networking session, where participants enjoyed light refreshments and the opportunity to connect with fellow students and alumni. Following this, Mr. Onn San, the composer for the critically acclaimed film “Ola Bola,” shared his experiences and insights during a special session that resonated deeply with the audience.
The highlight of the evening was the screening of “Ola Bola,” a film that captures the true story of the Malaysian national football team’s journey to qualify for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. The film’s powerful message of unity and perseverance resonated with everyone present, inspiring a renewed sense of pride and national spirit.
