UCSI students hosted an elaborate and festive Chinese New Year celebration that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the holiday. The event began with an exciting lion dance performance, symbolizing good luck and driving away negative energies, which immediately set an energetic and celebratory tone. Guests were then treated to a series of captivating cultural dance performances, showcasing the students’ dedication and creativity in preserving traditional art forms.
One of the event’s key highlights was the Yee Sang tossing ceremony, a symbolic tradition representing prosperity, good fortune, and unity for the year ahead. Attendees enthusiastically participated in tossing the colorful mixture of ingredients while offering well-wishes for health and success.
Throughout the event, various activities and interactive performances added to the joyous atmosphere, giving attendees an opportunity to connect with each other and learn more about Chinese culture. The celebration successfully created a vibrant and memorable experience for all participants, reflecting UCSI’s diverse and inclusive community spirit.
