Reporting and Tracking on Research Related to SDGs
In May 2020, the Centre of Excellence for Research, Value Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CERVIE) of UCSI University reported that the university has produced 339 SCOPUS-indexed publications in 2019 where 253 publications are either directly or indirectly related to SDGs.
The top 3 SDGs where most of UCSI publications in are:
- SDG9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (122 publications)
- SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being (103 publications)
- SDG 2 Zero Hunger (22 publications).
Moving forward, this online registration form is created to support tracking and reporting of UCSI University’s faculty members and post-graduate students’ research publications that are directly relevant to SDGs. This is facilitated by inviting researchers to map their work to any SDG targets and indicators. Most importantly, this initiative also creates awareness for them to be intentional in integrating the term “Sustainable Development Goals” in the title, abstract or keyword of their research paper. By being explicit, their work on SDGs can easily be traced and identified by various SDG reporting agencies that report on global research activity that contributes towards UN’s shared goals and study the trend on focus areas.
