    5. Diabetes and glucose metabolism
    6. Preventing fatty liver

Country of Origin

The common bean is thought to have originated in Mexico more than 100,000 years ago, but was actually domesticated separately at two different geographic locations in Mesoamerica and the southern Andes (Winterer, 2013).

Time to harvest

The seeds inside will be just visible – they look like small bumps. Depending on the variety that you have planted, snap beans will be ready for picking 50 to 65 days after planting. For a big harvest, pick green beans every day or at least every couple of days. If you allow beans to mature, the plant will stop producing new beans. (Albert, 2019)
