Our university prioritises sustainable practices in campus operations. We focus on energy conservation, waste management, water efficiency, digitisation and sustainable transportation. Our buildings are designed to be energy-efficient, utilising renewable energy sources wherever possible. We implement recycling programmes, promote composting, and strive to minimise waste generation. Key examples:

Energy Conservation and Efficiency

  1. 100% of the building lightings with LED.
  2. Solar energy is harvested, contributing to a small part of our electricity consumption, with the Net Zero Target by 2050.
  3. Motion sensing lightings at carparks.
  4. Staff card activation for room lights and air-conditioners.

Digitisation

  1. Cashless and ticketless parking system.
  2. Learning management system for academic purposes.
  3. Digital monitoring of recruitment numbers, course approval status and expenditures.
  4. Digital processes such as purchase requisition, manpower requisition, staff leave application, Co-op portal, student withdrawal, etc.

Water Conservation

  1. Rain water harvested for toilets.
  2. Tap restrictors fixed in toilets.

Waste Reduction and Repurposing

  1. Waste segregation for recycling and composting.
  2. Partnership with Recycler and Careton for recycling programme.
  3. No plastic straw policy.
